Panicked calls jam phone lines
KOLKATA, Nov. 21: Even though the force was concentrated only in the Park Circus area, a common man's exclusive agency of communication, mobile phones, went totally out of gear wheel throughout the city. However, most mobile service suppliers compared the state of affairs with congestion in the telephone lines as it haps during New Year's Eve. Voicing her understanding to the "temporary congestion" that took topographic point during the period, a Vodafone interpreter said, "It was an exigency state of affairs and people throughout the metropolis were making terror calls. All these telephone calls jammed the phone lines which again caused a impermanent congestion. The state of affairs came back to normality in the evening."
Mrs Pragati Sen, a BSNL endorser complained she could not reach her daughter's school till eventide arsenic no phone calls could be made from her land-line as well as mobile.
