The Nigerian Telecommunications Subscribers Association NATCOMS have called on the Nigerian Communications Commission, NCC and all the telecomms operating companies in the state to supply free anti-mobile telephone larceny service to Nigerian subscribers.
The President of NATCOMS, Head Deola Ogunbanjo said the telephone call was imperative in order to restrict the threat of changeless phone larcenies in Nigeria.
He added that the service is free everywhere in the world, and in line with International Best Practices .
Ogunbanjo who stated that NATCOMS started the anti-mobile phone larceny enterprise tagged the Anti-MOPHTI Undertaking in Federal Republic Of Nigeria during the December, 2005 edition of the NCC Telecomms Consumer Parliament, stressed that everyone nowadays at the meeting agreed that something should be done to halt the criminal menace.
He added that as a follow up to the Anti-MOPHTI project, NATCOMS wrote an Anti-MOPHTI undertaking proposal through the Presidency to NCC dated 20th March, 2006 .
